Fetch the Setup File
- One Sierra Chart download gives you the complete program; no extra pieces to collect.
- Download the Sierra Chart setup file and put it in a folder you will remember.
- Installing the program and using delayed quotes is free. Real-time exchange prices and a few services are billed on their own.
Installing It
- Store the file after downloading it.
- Double-click it and choose a destination folder. Steer clear of locations Windows protects, otherwise the program may be unable to save data.
- Open Sierra Chart using the new shortcut, then make a fresh chartbook.
- Attach prices through the data service settings. Delayed quotes are an easy first pick.

Your First Session
- Prices
- Begin with delayed exchange quotes while you learn where things are, and upgrade to live ones before real trading.
- Chart
- Type a symbol, pick a bar length, drop in a moving average and volume, and store the arrangement as a chartbook.
- Rehearsal
- Enable practice mode, fire a few test orders from the ladder, check the trade log, and only then think about a real account.
When Things Misbehave
The Sierra Chart download refuses to start.
Test your internet link, switch off add-ons that intercept downloads and try another browser. Corporate or school filters sometimes block setup files; ask the person who runs the network.
Windows flags the installer.
Be sure it came from the official page, then let it proceed when the system asks.
The charts are blank.
Look in the data service settings: a feed must be selected and connected. Also retype the symbol.
Do I pay to download?
No. Installing and exploring on delayed quotes costs nothing; real-time data and some services carry fees.
Must I know programming?
No. You only need it if you write indicators of your own.
